Terms of Service

Sentinel (“Sentinel”, “we”, “us”) is operated independently and is not currently incorporated as a company. The operator is the individual who provides the service, and the point of contact for anything in these terms is support@sentineltrade.net.

If and when Sentinel is incorporated, the registered name, number and address will be published in this clause and you will be notified under §15.

By creating an account or using Sentinel you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use Sentinel. By using it you confirm that you are.

Sentinel is a research and learning tool, so people of any age from 13 can use the ratings, screens and explanations. Connecting a broker is only possible with a brokerage account you hold yourself, and your broker's own age and eligibility rules apply to that account.

If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we will close it and delete its data.

Sentinel produces model output: ratings, scores, rankings, classifications of news, and screening verdicts. That output is information, not a recommendation, and it is not personalised to your circumstances, objectives, risk tolerance or tax position.

We are not authorised to give investment advice, and nothing in the product or on this site constitutes advice, a solicitation, or an offer to buy or sell any security. No advisory or fiduciary relationship is created by your use of Sentinel. See our Disclaimers.

Sentinel is a research tool. It does not hold your money or your assets, does not place orders, and cannot move funds.

If you choose to connect a broker (Trading 212, eToro, Interactive Brokers, Alpaca or Tradier), Sentinel uses the API key you supply only to read your positions and balances, so it can show your portfolio and alert you to rating changes. It never sends an order. Where your broker offers read-only keys, use one.

Every decision to buy or sell anything is one you make yourself, in your own account, with your own broker. Your relationship with that broker is separate and governed entirely by their terms, and we are not responsible for any aspect of their service.

Sentinel has not been demonstrated to predict returns. The product measures its own past calls against the market, reports the result whatever it is, and withholds a verdict until there is enough history to support one. Past model behaviour, including anything shown in the Validation tab, and any backtest, is not indicative of future results.

Ratings, scores, ranks and confidence labels are descriptions of model state. They are not forecasts and carry no assurance of accuracy.

Halal mode applies AAOIFI Shari'ah Standard No. 21 mechanically to reported financials and business classification. It is a first-pass filter.

It is not a fatwa and does not constitute a religious ruling. Where a verdict depends on scholarly interpretation the product says so. Financial data may be stale or wrong, classifications may be imprecise, and a company's position can change between reporting periods. Consult your own scholar before relying on any verdict.

Prices, estimates, earnings, fundamentals and news come from third parties, including SEC EDGAR, FINRA and commercial market-data providers. Data may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate or unavailable, and providers may change or withdraw access without notice.

We do not warrant the accuracy of any data and are not liable for decisions taken on the basis of it. Where a data source cannot supply a factor, Sentinel marks it absent rather than substituting a value, but the absence of an error message is not a warranty of correctness.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and any API keys you supply secure, and for all activity under your account.

The keys Sentinel accepts are market-data, AI-provider and broker API keys. They are stored encrypted and used only to read data. Sentinel never uses a broker key to trade, but a key with trading permission could be misused if it were stolen elsewhere, which is why read-only keys are recommended.

Tell us promptly at security@sentineltrade.net if you believe your account or keys have been compromised.

You agree not to:

• use Sentinel in breach of any law or market regulation, including market abuse and insider dealing rules;
• redistribute, resell or republish data obtained through Sentinel in breach of the originating provider's terms;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service, or to another user's data;
• scrape, overload or otherwise interfere with the service or its providers; or
• use Sentinel to provide regulated advice to others without your own authorisation to do so.

The Sentinel website, app, rating method, explanations, text, design and code belong to Sentinel or its licensors. Market data belongs to the providers it comes from.

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Sentinel for your own research and learning. You may quote or share individual ratings and screenshots for non-commercial purposes, with credit to Sentinel. You may not copy the service, build a competing product from its output, or resell access to it.

Sentinel is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uptime, and we may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the service. Maintenance, provider outages and rate limits can all interrupt it.

Do not rely on Sentinel being available at any particular moment, and do not use it as your only source of information about a position.

You can stop using Sentinel at any time, and ask us to delete your account by writing to privacy@sentineltrade.net; deletion removes your account, keys, holdings and settings as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close an account, with notice where it is practical to give it, if it breaches these terms (in particular §9), puts the service or other users at risk, or if we are required to by law. If we decide to stop providing Sentinel altogether, we will give reasonable notice by email so you can export anything you need.

Clauses that by their nature should survive the end of your use of Sentinel, including §3, §5, §10, §13 and §16, continue to apply.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that, we are not liable for trading losses, lost profits, lost opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Sentinel. Our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the total amount you have paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose.

If something has gone wrong, write to support@sentineltrade.net with what happened and what you would like us to do. We will acknowledge it within five working days and aim to resolve it within 30 days, telling you if it will take longer and why.

Privacy complaints can also be taken to the Information Commissioner's Office (see the Privacy Policy). Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects your rights we will give reasonable notice by email or in the product. Continuing to use Sentinel after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
