Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Sentinel. The short version: Sentinel is a research and automation tool, not an adviser and not a broker. Every trading decision, and every consequence of one, is yours.

01Who these terms are between
Sentinel (“Sentinel”, “we”, “us”) is operated independently and is not currently incorporated as a company. The operator is the individual who provides the service, and the point of contact for anything in these terms is sentinelsupport3@gmail.com.
If and when Sentinel is incorporated, the registered name, number and address will be published in this clause and you will be notified under §12.
By creating an account or using Sentinel you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
02Sentinel is not investment advice
Sentinel produces model output: scores, rankings, classifications of news, and screening verdicts. That output is information, not a recommendation, and it is not personalised to your circumstances, objectives, risk tolerance or tax position.
We are not authorised to give investment advice, and nothing in the product or on this site constitutes advice, a solicitation, or an offer to buy or sell any security. No advisory or fiduciary relationship is created by your use of Sentinel.
If you want advice, speak to someone authorised to give it in your jurisdiction.
03Sentinel is not a broker
Sentinel does not hold your money or your assets and does not execute trades on its own account. Where you connect a Trading 212 API key, Sentinel sends instructions to Trading 212 on your behalf using credentials you supplied. Your relationship with Trading 212 is separate and governed entirely by their terms.
We are not responsible for your broker's execution, pricing, availability, fees, order rejection, or any other aspect of their service.
04Automated trading, and what you are accepting
Automation is disabled by default. Enabling it, and separately arming live mode, are deliberate acts that you perform. Once armed, Sentinel may place real orders in your real account without further confirmation from you.
Automated trading can lose money, including more than you intended to risk. Stops are not guaranteed to execute at the price shown. Markets gap. Orders can be rejected, delayed, partially filled, or filled at a materially different price. Software can fail. Data can be wrong.
You are solely responsible for the configuration you run, for monitoring it, and for the trades it places. The safeguards in the product — the gates, the daily loss limit, the kill switch, the expiring live arming — reduce certain risks. They do not eliminate them and they are not a guarantee.
We strongly recommend running on the practice account for an extended period before arming anything real.
05No promise that the model works
Sentinel has not been demonstrated to predict returns. The product measures its own information coefficient against a shuffled-noise control and reports the result, including when a factor scores below its control. Past model behaviour, including anything shown in the Validation tab, is not indicative of future results.
Scores, ranks, expected drift figures and confidence labels are descriptions of model state. They are not forecasts and carry no assurance of accuracy.
06Shari'ah screening
The Shari'ah screen applies AAOIFI Shari'ah Standard No. 21 mechanically to reported financials and business classification. It is a first-pass filter.
It is not a fatwa and does not constitute a religious ruling. Where a verdict depends on scholarly interpretation the product says so. Financial data may be stale or wrong, classifications may be imprecise, and a company's position can change between reporting periods. Consult your own scholar before relying on any verdict.
07Market data
Market data, news, estimates and fundamentals are supplied by third parties: Yahoo Finance, Finnhub, Financial Modeling Prep, Polygon, Tiingo and Alpha Vantage. Data may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate or unavailable, and providers may change or withdraw access without notice.
We do not warrant the accuracy of any data and are not liable for decisions taken on the basis of it. Where a data source cannot supply a factor, Sentinel marks it absent rather than substituting a value — but absence of an error message is not a warranty of correctness.
08Your account and your API keys
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and any API keys you supply secure, and for all activity under your account.
We recommend using read-only broker keys unless you specifically intend to allow automated trading. Read-only access is sufficient for every feature except placing orders.
Tell us promptly at sentinelsupport3@gmail.com if you believe your account or keys have been compromised.
09Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Sentinel in breach of any law or market regulation, including market abuse and insider dealing rules;
- redistribute, resell or republish market data obtained through Sentinel in breach of the originating provider's terms;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service, or to another user's data;
- scrape, overload or otherwise interfere with the service or its providers; or
- use Sentinel to provide regulated advice to others without your own authorisation to do so.
10Availability
Sentinel is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uptime, and we may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the service. Maintenance, provider outages and rate limits can all interrupt it — including while automation is armed.
Do not rely on Sentinel being available at any particular moment, and do not use it as your only means of monitoring or closing a position.
11Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, we are not liable for trading losses, lost profits, lost opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Sentinel. Our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the total amount you have paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose.
12Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects your rights we will give reasonable notice by email or in the product. Continuing to use Sentinel after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
13Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
See also our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
